Description: Sound your A is a double CD of music recorded in the main by John Byrt beginning with members of the Corcomroe Céilí Band 1954 and continuing throughout the 1960s.
While mainly traditional music the collection also includes music and musicians who played in the dance bands of the 40's and 50's – The Jack Madigan and Mickey Hogan bands.Many of the musicians appeared in both Dance bands and Céilí bands.
A book will accompany the CD with profiles of the musicians and comments on the context of the times. All tracks will be mastered at Malbay Studios. This effort is in memory of all the musicians who played and entertaiend in Ennistymon and beyond.

About the Author: Enda Byrt was born in Ennistymon and attended secondary school at Ennistymon CBS, St. Joseph's Galway and Coláiste Éinde. He was Pincipal of Ennistymon Vocational School 1980-2008. He holds a master's degree in educational psychology from U.C.C. He acted as assistant coach and head coah to Ireland Junior Men Basketball 1980-1999 and was head coach of the National Team 1990-1999. He is married to the former Teresa O Dwyer(Mullagh) and they have three children. He workd part time for the Education Department at Atlantic Technological University Galway.
