Based on the Incredible True Story of Sr Kate McCarthy

IMPRISONED BY EVIL, HER SPIRIT NEVER SURRENDERED

1944, Ravensbruck - the infamous concentration camp for women. Amid unimaginable suffering, Sr Kate McCarthy, an Irish nun and Resistance fighter, stands at the gates.

Kate joined the French Resistance at the outbreak of war. She risked everything to fight tyranny, enduring capture, interrogation and brutal imprisonment. Her faith never faltered. Her resolve never broke.

Now, as the war reaches its final, harrowing chapter, Kate faces her greatest test yet. Alongside her closest allies, Sylvette and Angele, she must summon every ounce of strength to endure what lies beyond the barbed wire - and to keep hope alive when all seems lost.

The Nun of Ravensbruck is a powerful debut novel based on real events, bringing to life the untold story of an extraordinary woman who lit a beacon of hope in humanity's darkest hour.

About the Author

Cathi Fleming is a retired primary school teacher from Kildare, Ireland, where she spent many years nurturing young minds before turning her own lifelong passion for history into scholarly pursuit.
A married mother of four and grandmother of three, she holds an MA in Local History. Driven by a deep curiosity for overlooked stories, Cathi was struck by a passing reference to four Irish women imprisoned in Ravensbruck Concentration Camp during World War II. This sparked six years of dedicated research - culminating in two emotional visits to the camp - and led her to the remarkable life of Kate McCarthy from Cork.
In her gripping debut novel The Nun of Ravensbruck, Cathi brings Kate's extraordinary story to light with sensitivity, insight and commitment to historical truth.
