The Gaelic footballer who's won nearly every prize in the game:
Including 5 All-Irelands & 8 All-Stars.

'You need a boot to kick and hands and shoulders to mark
your opposition. But without a sharp brain, you'll never make
it as a Kerry footballer.'

Follow Colm from his days as a tiny, freckle-faced kid - the youngest of seven in a GAA-mad family from Killarney - all the way to Croke Park, where he won five All-Ireland titles. This is the story of how a boy who everyone said wasn't big enough or strong enough to wear the green and gold jersey of Kerry became one of the greatest Gaelic footballers of all time.

Saying that, the right balance between sporting endeavours and the challenges of life beyond, enhance the appeal of the series to children without a significant interest in sport. For teachers, books of this genre will help you address the potential fiction/non fiction imbalance in your classroom and school libraries ... it can only be hoped that these books are the first of many in this series

I found this book to be awe-inspiring, motivating, encouraging and very enjoyable. It gives a great insight into the life of a great Irish Sports Star. The author Donny Mahoney, shows how a humble, hard-working young boy can do great things if he follows his dreams. I would recommend this book to all members of the family as the parents/older siblings could read it to their brothers or sisters or friends. I believe it would also be a great read for all sports fans, no matter what county or club they support. I would rate this book 10/10 because I found it to be encouraging to all who feel they may not be able to achieve their dreams.
